Requirements for manuscripts submitted to the Collection of Papers “Nuclear propulsion reactor plants. Life cycle management technologies”
The Collection publishes papers and short contributions that report results of theoretical and experimental research carried out as part of the activities for development, testing, and operation of nuclear propulsion reactor plants throughout their life cycle.
The Collection welcomes manuscripts containing the main results of doctoral and candidate studies in the subject field of the Collection.
All papers submitted for publication in the Collection are peer reviewed on an anonymous basis (i.e. reviewers’ identity is not disclosed to the authors).
The Executive Secretary of Editorial Board handles the review procedure and organizes communication between the authors of papers and reviewers in accordance with the Guidelines for reviewing manuscripts submitted for publication in the Collection of Papers, approved by the Editor-in-Chief and available at the website www.niti.ru, section the Collection of Papers “Nuclear propulsion reactor plants. Life cycle management technologies”.
After the reviewer’s report is received by the Editorial Board, the Editorial Board sends to the author the list of the reviewer’s comments and suggestions so that the author should address them in the final version of the manuscript. The author shall send to the Editorial Board, within 5 calendar days, the revised manuscript. The Editorial Board accepts and copyedits the manuscript for publication and sends it back to the author for final approval.

1. Acceptance criteria
1.1. Manuscripts submitted for publication in the Russian language should have scientific and practical value and novelty. Every paper should
be indexed by the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) code given at the top left corner of the first page (UDC index should designate in sufficient detail the subject matter of the paper),
a title (name of the paper in Russian and English, name(s) of the author(s), names and addresses of organizations where the study was conducted);
an abstract in Russian and English (brief description of the study objectives and potential for practical application of results obtained, allowing a reader to quickly grasp the problem under discussion); the abstract should be 5-10 phrases;
key words in Russian and English (7-10 words);
a text (including introduction to the problem or problem definition, description of the study method or experiment, description of the main results of the study with emphasis on their novelty and scientific and practical importance, and conclusions);
list of references prepared following the rules described below, and be written in accordance withthe submission instructions given below.
2. Submission instructions
2.1 A scientific paper should be no longer than seven-ten A4 size pages (portrait layout) including tables, illustrations and references (longer papers may be accepted upon agreement with the Editorial Board).
2.2 Text formatting requirements:
all margins - 20 mm;
page format - А4 (portrait layout);
font for text body - Times New Roman, 12-point size;
paper title - semibold font (Sentence case), 16-point size;
headings of paper sections/subsections - semibold font (Sentence case), 14-point size;
single-spacing for text;
indent of each paragraph’s first line;
full justification of text;
word wrap is on;
pages are not numbered;
figures and tables are embedded within the main text;
the word “figure” is capitalized and abbreviated as “Fig.” in captions and abbreviated as “fig.” when referring to a figure in text.
tables are named and numbered by Arabic numerals in the order of their appearance in text; the table title follows the table number; all columns in tables have headings and are separated with vertical lines; words in tables must not be abbreviated; if there is only one table with its heading in a paper, it is not numbered and the word “Table” is omitted from the heading;
formulas are constructed within the MS Equation editor, equation numbers are given in parentheses - (1);
a point (dot) “.” is used as decimal mark;
notations of physical quantities and other symbolic notations such as abbreviations are explained where they first appear in text;
the number of figures including subfigures is limited to 10 - 12 for original contributions and to 3 for brief reports;
duplication of data in figures, tables, and text should be avoided;
references to literature are given in brackets - .
2.3 Illustrations and graphic files.
2.3.1 Resolution for illustrations is a minimum of 150 dpi. Recommended resolution for:
Halftones (color or grayscale) - 300 dpi.
Bitmap - 600-1200 dpi.
2.3.2. Illustration should be a minimum of 6 cm and a maximum of 17 cm wide.
2.3.3. It is recommended that trends, diagrams, and schemes are created in vector graphics editors (CorelDRAW, Adobe Illustrator) and submitted in the original format of the given program (*.cdr, *.ai) or in *.eps format. The *.tif, *.jpg formats are recommended for other types of illustrations.
2.3.4. It is recommended to submit two versions of the same photographs. The first version is identical to the original photograph with all captions and credits; the second version is only picture (without text, credits, etc.). The preferred format of files is *.tif, *.jpg.
2.4 A list of references is provided at the end of the paper. Bibliography is formatted according to ГОСТ 7.1-2003 and ГОСТ Р 7.05-2008 guidelines.
2.5 The entries in the reference list are numbered and listed in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text or in alphabetical order by the last name of the author or by the first significant word of the work title; if authors have the same last name, the bibliographic entries are arranged alphabetically by the first initial.
2.6 If references in other languages (non-Russian) are included, an additional alphabetical list is provided.
2.7 Manuscripts prepared in Microsoft Word format in accordance with the above guidelines are submitted to the Editorial Board. Figures (diagrams, trends) and photographs are attached as separate files of *.tif, *.jpg formats with required resolution.
2.8 Authors shall submit, along with manuscript materials, electronic copies of documents certifying that the manuscript materials are cleared for public release and can be published in the Collection of Papers “Nuclear propulsion reactor plants. Life cycle management technologies”.
